Love these panniers!

I've had these panniers since their introduction, and take a few trips yearly. Normally gravel river trails, and yearly trips on the C&O canal, which means mud, rocks and ruts, and lots of vibration. The mounting system locks them into place on my Iberia rack and they do not move at all
They are now covered with patches from all the places they've been over the years.

Despite being years old the bags still look like new (well except for all the patches!) I much prefer this style to the roll top "waterproof" like Ortlieb. Anyone who has done trips in rain knows those waterproof bags may keep rain out - but they also keep water in. Plus, they're a pain when you need something trailside. Instead you should keep clothes in a waterproof roll-up vacuum bag, and stuff used wet things in a dry bag until you can air them out.

These bags feature a cinch top on the bag body, and a flap that locks down via buckles and adjustable straps. This makes it easy to load your pannier with items you won't need until camp - like sleeping bags, etc, and put something you might need on top just under the lid, like a jacket for easy access.

The top also has a pocket for rain covers. I have been in rain so hard it almost looked solid coming down, and never once has the contents of the bags gotten wet with the covers on.

About the only negative I would give to these bags is they could use an internal pocket. That's it.
